Afra and Tobia Scarpa Benetton Chairs
Ships from Milan, Italy
This rare pair of chairs were designed for Benetton’s Italian corporate office by Afra & Tobia Scarpa in the 1980’s. Executed in original cognac leather and tubular steel, the leather upholstery is in rich patinated condition. Most stunning is the half-moon shaped tubular frame which holds the wide leather seat, providing maximum comfort to the user. The thin suspension which connects the seat and backrest compliment the leather stitching detail and thick tubular frame. A true modernist item that shows strong resemblance with the iconic tubular chairs of the 1930s by Marcel Breuer and Mies van der Rohe.
